I thought of it after getting the Keaton mask in the game. I always wondered why the Curiosity Shop man gave it to us and not Kafei directly. I had to aquire reading comprehension to realize they shared a deep bond.
This sequence of dialogue is everything to me, if not for it, this ship wouldn't have crossed my mind probably!.
With one glance at the mask, he knew it was his old friend Kafei.

So, TL;DR: Kafei and the Curiosity Shop man are friends, Kafei has a huge crush on him as a kid, and as an adult he wants more even if it's imposible; the man is oblivious to Kafei's infatuation and doesn't see Kafei as more than a friend. Kafei is going to marry to get rid of his feelings towards the man.

True Demon Ending dynamic of course.
I love how Lucifer creates the Demi-fiend. He appears to him as a child first and then as an old man. The fact that Lucifer as the blond child turns him into a demon with a human heart makes my stomach feel things. Then he leaves his humanity, making him a demon with a human body as vessel.
I don't know how else to describe the feeling but with the saying: "CrĂa cuervos y te sacarĂĄn los ojos", I want Lucifer to be consumed by the Demi-fiend, a creature born from his schemes.
Knowing you can choose a path of creation and reason but rejecting all of them to follow complete Chaos was tempting to me, so I played Nocturne with the True Demon Ending as the only possible outcome.
Imagine the fallen angel Lucifer chooses you to help him end everything, testing your worth and proving you're capable, leaving all traces of your humanity to be part of his tropes, be an agent of chaos. The only detail is that by doing this, Lucifer accidentally (or not?), makes you the strongest of demons, even defeating him. You are now his ultimate weapon, like a feral guard dog.
(Silly detail but I love that he beats shit with his bare fists, Marogareh + pierce my beloved -you should know I don't know shit about strategies or builds or whatever, I just read 'you have to get this' and went for it.-)
"You have created a new demon in your heart's likeness, fallen angel?", this final phrase makes me HOWL.
TL;DR: Lucifer makes himself the ideal seme, the game.
What I also ADORE is that this Lucifer has many shapes (see the pictures at the start of this section). You can explore many flavors with them! as long as the Demi-fiend is his feral dog that fucks him senseless (can be taken literal or not) anything is fine, just no soft uke Demi-fiend please. (Well, the shota Lucifer is the only one who can tame Demi-fiend, as in, Demi-fiend would protect his shota form rather than devour it).

4. Jennifer/Wendy

I want to see their interactions before everything went to hell. Prince and Princess. I love how tender they seemed to be before Wendy lost her mind, rubbing noses and sharing kisses.
Jennifer in her kindness, even with her fears and traumas, gets to be a better person than Wendy. Jennifer has her dancing on the palm of her hand without knowing and this is the source of all the abuse directed to her. Wendy can be read as yandere, she wants Jennifer only for herself, to the point of torturing and abusing her because she doesn't do what Wendy says and wants from her.
The game's main music theme "A Love Suicide", this is Wendy's feelings for Jennifer.

Obsessive 'one-sided' (but not quite) love.
I think Jennifer loved her in her own way and she thought they could be happy together with Brown. The problem was that Wendy didn't want to share her love.
When Jennifer breaks and slaps Wendy, standing up for herself.
I love this trope of breaking a very kind character and them exploding.
I'm weak for this kind of psychological stories, especially one that touches cruelty and childhood (besides many other themes).
5. Evil Morty/Rick Prime

It surprised me that this ship wasn't more popular (?) on ao3. Maybe it's because they just appear together briefly, idk, or the potencial they have hasn't been discovered yet.
I like to think Evil Morty has saved his data somehow and studies him/tortures him. Prime tries to be the playful trickster cruel asshole piece of shit he is but EM just isn't taking anything from him.
Evil Morty easily trapped Rick Prime.
Prime showed interest on EM, telling him he started to see the appeal of Morties and that he could be his sidekick, something EM rebutted by calling Prime a Robin.
Season 8 gave us an updated adult Morty look, so I drew adult Evil Morty with some tweaks (like him refusing to grow a stubble)
6. Lance Bishop/Michael Bishop

Michael Bishop is the human scientist, he appears in Alien³ almost in the end, and Lance Bishop is the synthetic on Aliens.

We got David 8/Walter in the Prometheus movies, the Fassbender kiss đ„đ so when I binge watched the movies (I had only seen the 1st movie, Alien Resurrection, Alien vs Predator and the Prometheus movies, and after watching Romulus I got hyped for the franchise again) I loooooved Bishop, he has the kind of face and complexion that atracts me a lot so I was instantly charmed. A good synthetic after the one in the first movie. Then the sadness of the third movie, seeing him destroyed, it broke my heart, but then the "other" appeared and I screamed. My brain started thinking of how this human scientist Bishop is such a narcisist, creating an android on his likeness. Perfect.
7. Cyrus/Frog (Glenn)

Chrono Trigger is one of my fave games of all times and I have 2 very weird ships. The most rare is the Chef from 600 AD and his brother, the Captain. They have this conflictive relationship, but in the end, they care for each other, especially the Chef, he wants his bro to be safe even if he is angry about him all the time.
And the other rare pair is this one, Cyrus, the Queen's loyal guard and Frog (Glenn when he is human), his childhood friend and also apprentice. This ship is pure tragedy, since Cyrus dies at the hands of Magus and Glenn survives but is turned into a Frog, being called a monster and him having the survivors guilt. He feels weak that he couldn't protect anyone and disappears, leaving the Queen to wonder what happened to them.

I loved this pair because the material to ship them is right there: they are childhood friends (Cyrus is a bit older than Frog), the kind strong one that protects the soft one and then dies to protect him. One sided romantic love that could never be, age difference, etc etc.

I love how they get closure in a sidequest. There's many sidequests to better your weapons or find the ultimate armor/weapon for each character, and Frog's is this one, he has to face the ghost of his friend Cyrus.

I find it very special thay this shady man (who buys stolen goods from thieves to resell) has a friend like Kafei. He is significantly older than him, Kafei is a young man about to marry his 'childhood sweetheart', and since he, the Curiosity Shop man, is the one that gives us the Keaton mask, he reminiscences that he gave this mask first to a child Kafei many years ago and that he is surprised that Kafei would have kept it in such good condition after so much time. We see that this shady man has a sweet heart, at least for Kafei.
As I mentioned before, the man from the Curiosity Shop knows Kafei since he was a little kid. He cared for him to the extent that he gave him a mask, and became friends! The man practically watched him grow up. The appeal for me here is the fact that Kafei KEPT that mask as a little treasure, the man says how well kept the mask is! So even if Kafei looks a bit distracted (he got his precious mask stolen, and later in the hideout he steps on a trap), he definitely cherishes his friendship with the Curiosity Shop man!

THE DYNAMIC
Of course, this is a young x old home, so my crazy headcanon is that Kafei had a big crush on the Curiosity Shop man since he was little, to be more specific, his crush bloomed when the man gave him the Keaton mask as a child. I love to think that Kafei was very little, like 6 or something when he started feeling that pull towards the man. I imagine the man being on his almost 40's when Kafei was little, and now he is almost 50. Young adult Kafei might be on his early 20's. His regressed 'brat body', as the man puts it, would be Link's age tho, around 10 years old.
The ages have been put on the table jejeje, so now, the tasty details!
The man would care a lot about Kafei, but he doesn't see him as anything more. He might even feel like some kind of uncle to him (not a parental figure tho, the man is shady ffs, he would be like that uncle that let's you do and try stuff that the parents won't let you just because he loves to do the opposite that your parents say.) So when he is older, Kafei would invite the man to get some drinks.
Little Kafei might be a normal kid, more on the quiet side, not hyperactive and bothersome, so he would be well behaved around the man and the man would appreciate it. I also like to imagine Kafei wandering at night in town and visiting the man at hours he shouldn't be out
(the Curiosity Shop opens at 10 pm, but he could also visit him in the mornings in the Trading post!).
I want to think that they crossed paths at night first and then in the morning, Kafei recognizing the Trading Post man as the Curiosity Shop man and the man deniyig it but then giving up.
Kafei would grow up with this one-sided crush. He has his friends, Anju and Cremia. Well, he might try to get rid of his feelings by getting married to Anju, he likes her, you can also say he loves her! But his infatuation with the man is something that the heart just won't ever leave, even if he loves Anju dearly.
(Side note, but Romani has a dialogue where she says:
"Romani knows... My sister, Cremia, has someone in town she likes... But that person is supposed to get married the day of the carnival. It's hard for my sister... Going into town..." — Romani (Majora's Mask)
So, people might go with the het logic: 'aw Cremia is in love with Kafei :y' but I'm going with the angsty 'Cremia is in love with Anju and she's bitter she's going to marry Kafei'.)

As an adult, Kafei would let his feels towards the man slip, like holding his hand a little too long to be appropiate, letting his eyes linger on the man, holding him a bit too strong when they go to drink and Kafei is a little drunk...the man is of course oblivious to all this.
I have some silly comics of Kafei's bachellor party, both he and the man go to the milk bar (just the two of them, bc the man is special to him) and Kafei gets drunk and gets all touchy to the point where the man takes him to the backroom on the pond (so he sleeps there and doesn't show up drunk at home) and Kafei collapses over him.
